new moon in Woodford ~ wise woman & a soul painting...

today is New Moon at 10.13am precisely...a gorgeous drizzly raining spring day... just like a New Moon should be... still, waiting, until She bursts forth into her waxing period to Full Moon

a time for letting go of destructive habits.... as I sat last night in Sacred Space, I pondered how I could let go of this anger, frustration and doubting my search.... and this came to me:
the doubt and questioning of my spiritual journey and beliefs is actually my ego sabotaging me and putting the doubts and fears there... it is important for me to cleanse & rid myself of these negative feelings and thoughts or else, i won't move forward through it. Look upon it as a test, a challenge. Continue to meditate, journal and spend time with your wise women friends. Even if it becomes tiresome and difficult and you begin to doubt yourself.. KEEP GOING !! When you feel or see these thoughts coming, stop and turn them away - journal them away... you are away of them now and it will be easier.
so today, I will sit with a cup of tea and do a letting go ritual..

a few months ago, I did a workshop called 'Paint your canvas' - I went along not really knowing what to expect. Not having done art in my life, I was a little nervous... but the teacher was wonderful. We meditated, we chanted and we played... and over the weeks, a painting emerged on my canvas. I would dream of it and was instructed on what to do as i dreamed.. to put netting on her cloak, to make her dress a vibrant red, to use an old button as a clasp.... I had seen this woman, many, many times but could not get her out in anyway. It is a painting of myself or my Guardian in a past life...... Yesterday at our wise woman gathering, I saw her in meditation.. sitting quietly... gathering mistletoe berries.... she is guiding me to peacefullness..
After this painting was done, was the time my yearning for connection, my desire to visit Cornwall started to diminish.......

Once a fortnight, I go to a gathering of women, there are only five of us and we work through Women who run with the Wolves.. yesterday we made a dream catcher and once it is cleansed and smudged, I am going to hang it on my door at Beltane. I used ivy & string and spun a web while we chatted about our journeys. I weaved shells and sticks that I had gathered and a feather that I found once while walking. I think gatherings like this are truly missed by women of our time.. once upon a time we sat around fires in circles, sharing our knowledge... I am blessed that this circle has come to me at this time. I have yearned for it for so long.

New Moon

the new moon today in Woodford was at 12.18pm... the day was weird, time kind of stood still.. time didn't seem to rush by as it usually does. The gale that has been blowing even stopped. It was just so eerie. As I was driving along the road, even the traffic had a stillness about it.. like no one was rushing...... I had decided to do a banishment ritual this new moon, with Suzie... lately I have been the proverbial bitter old woman..

angry, at - well, I know not what.. just angry. Grumpy. My Nan would say that I have a 'touch of the SOL's' - of course, I won't translate that as it is not nice. But it seems it is connected to liver.... Funnily enough, while searching for some natural remedies for my poor aching hands, I found an article by Susun Weed, where she asks to make a list of the things that we are sore(upset, angry) about.. so tonight, I will do this in my BoS, my soul journal, I will sit in stillness and try to find where this anger and bitterness is coming from.. I don't like it one bit, but it is like I am possessed by some very odd person who snaps at people for no reason and just has this anger cloud hanging over her...... and I am bitter.. I could be the STAR of the tv show 'Bitter Old Women'.. I had booked myself in for a massage for the new moon and thought this was the perfect time to release any anger that I was holding within me..so when I was there, I just breathed out anger and breathed in Joy.

today, I also cleaned up around my verandah, wrapping myself in layers of clothes against the cold (oh yes, I know some of you think I live in a mild place during winter, but this cold really does chill me right to the bones) and then I lit some Frankincense and Myrrh incense at my door, hung a smoky quartz crystal to banish negativity and hung a bunch of those violets from my door knob... hopefully that will all keep those 'angry spirits' away! I do love to do ancient folklore rituals like this.. kinda connects me to my ancestors in a way.

FULL MOON dreamboard & dream boat....beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy....

June full moon in Woodford.... 3am this morning to be precise.... a perfect day to spend some time in a favourite nature spot.... flowering in my garden at the moment is the daphne, the smell of Heaven... I have about 7 plants so my whole yard is perfumed with this most exquiste perfume, then also I have early jonquils - way too early.. I have calendula flowering merrily and small self seeded johnny jump ups coming up in my path.. I have lemons and oranges.... lots of parsley....according to my 'witch school' notes (remember that?)... it is Earth wombat Moon...a quiet time as nature watches and waits as the days lengthen towards Winter Solstice.... I don't have wombats here.. well, not that I know of... but I do have the daphne.. and I think I will call this Full Moon in Woodford 'the Daphne Moon'....
I have been creating a DreamBoard to help manifest the means to purchase the block of land next door....

AND SO IT IS...

I lit a candle in front of my journal and sent my dreams and wishes out to the Goddess of the Full Moon... AND SO IT IS.....

now to my dream boat....

isn't he gorgeous!! 3 months old on Sunday!!

this Sunday he is being baptised... the token baptism to keep the great grandparents happy...

tomorrow, we are celebrating winter solstice... and I hope to take him down under the pine tree, to my sacred space and sit with him.. to introduce him to the faeries.. to Mother earth and ask Her to protect him during his time here, in this life.

Harry is just the most delightful little boy... he is happy, he laughs and he makes us all smile... a true gift from Heaven!

Full Moon in Woodford

I don't know where to start to tell about my trip to Vietnam, I think the best thing is to do it bit by bit.. along with my daily life.....

today is the full moon.. according to my MOONTIME diary: a magnetic & magickal time; be careful what you ask for & gracefully accept what you receive. An emphasis on water and light opens doors for healing & transformation. Best day in the year for planting and harvesting potent herbs. And in my notes it says that this is the Dingo Moon, but yesterday I noticed the little finches on my grass... chittering away to each other in the brisk morning sun and my apple tree is almost bare so I have decided to call this May Full Moon "the crisp bare apple tree finch Moon" - something very picturesque about that I think....

vietnam is a beautiful country, full of contrasts. I didn't see the night sky once, I am not sure if it was pollution or cloud cover from the nearby cyclone in Burma... but I sure missed our Australian stars. The weather was hot & very humid and it rained almost every afternoon. The people are mostly delightful.. trying so hard to understand our english and wanting to help all the time. I just found it very hard when girls with babies on their hips came up to me asking for money all the time.. I just felt so helpless as I knew I could not help them all.

lining the streets are street vendors. Selling all manner of wares and junk. The aroma from the cooking was quite delicious and we did buy some small cakes from a little old lady.

Joe & I did a few tours - City sights- where we visited the Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and the War Remnants Museum, where there we saw planes and helicopters from the Vitenam War along with photos and other war bits n pieces. I could not continue through the tour as it became too emotional for me to see photos that were on display.. so I went and sat outside watching the busy world go by.

Then onto a Pagoda where I bought some incense to bring home and also lit a spiral of it to hang in the Pagoda. The theory is that as the incense burns down, your prayers are taken off to 'God'.... excellent theory I think.

Saigon by night, where we went to a traditional Vietnamese restaurant and tried various foods and beer.. then shopping.. where I bought some gorgeous silk lanterns. The buildings in the city were gorgeous, run down, but gorgeous. The French influence could be seen in the colours and architecture...

I was amazed at the beautiful timber shutters that adorned most buildings. I would love to get my hands on some of them.... I am sure oneday, some antique dealer will discover these treasures and will offer a pittance to unsuspecting Vietnamese families... take them back to France and make a fortune......*sigh* the way of the world.

each day we would take a walk around the streets and I never tired of looking at the homes. All very narrow but about 3 stories high and painted the most vibrant colours and most of them had statues on the top balcony, whether they were of Kwan Yin or Mary. The streets were quite clean.. ladies used large straw brooms to sweep. I just loved the sights.. the coolie hats, the straw brooms and the street vendors.. a little busier than I expected but it is a developing country and I am guess I am glad that I could visit when I could.. I am sure it will be spoilt in a few years time.

that's it for today... enjoy your Full Moon & remember be careful what you wish for... I am going to do some drumming... something Ruth and I are working on across the globe!

well, here I am home but oh, I do like to be beside the seaside!

I had a wonderful time away by the sea-side.... every morning I would wake up and quietly slip outside to walk along the beach by my SELF.. I left Joe asleep and walked up the hill along the boardwalk, absorbing the energy of the ocean and then I would take my shoes off and walk along the beach. Sometimes stopping to collect shells, sometimes running from the waves that were crashing in onto the sand, sometimes allowing the seaweed to wrap around my feet. Shivering with delight at the cold water on my warm feet. I was a child again, yet I was the wise woman that I have become. I was content and happy. I found some treasures for my mermaid faery friends and discovered a wonderful shop called the Gnostic Forrest.
I have so much to share... my thoughts and reflections as I walked on the seashore, photos of my time away & yes, photos of my faery birthday... but I will post them all over the next few days...
today is the new moon... a new moon in Capricorn - a good time to smudge yourself and your home and a good time to let go of outdated habits.. a good time to cultivate patience in your soul (lord, what a difficult lesson for me!). I hope you are all feeling wonderful... I know I am - I feel blessed right now.. take time today to nurture your soul.

missing the boat - so a bit of this and a bit of that

I went away on the weekend. We went to Mudgee - a wine producing area about 3 hours from our home.. so I missed the Full Moon... well posting about it anyhow. This full moon affected me in a very odd way .. much the same as a new moon does.. I felt lost and melancholy. But then I realized that it was 30 years since my first husband was killed in the car accident... and oddly enough, I dreamt about it on Saturday night... I think I may have a little grieving and forgiving of self to do on this.... even though it is a long time ago and I am very happily married... I didn't grieve when I was left a widow at 19 with a baby... and I also need to forgive my self for not allowing myself to grieve... I know it all sounds odd.. but that is how it is..

I also forgot to post my Sacred Life Sunday... but the way I was feeling last night.. not much was feeling sacred to me.. so I sat and meditated.... i think it was also a combination of no sleep and maybe a little too much champagne over the weekend. Being a sensitive.. alcohol doesn't do much for my spiritual self. But at least I danced the night away!
Below are some prayer flags in the colours of the chakras... they flap gently in the breeze just outside my bedroom door... these are sacred to me. I read the wise words and feel at peace. I sit under them while having my cup of tea and feel peace flowing down over my spirit.

this morning, when I realized that I didn't feel that there was alot that was sacred to me today.. I took myself off into my garden for a walk in the cool morning air and came across these flowers below.. Love in the mist... and immediately felt at peace.... like Love was in the mist around me... (yes, misty morning in Woodford today).... and then I thought of the white cockatoos that flew overhead yesterday when I returned home.. and how their raucous call has been reverberating throughout the bush during the past week... which always happens at this time of year...

and because of these cockatoos, I decided to call this Full Moon in November - the Cockatoo Moon.. I wandered around the garden some more.... feeling the peace descending on me.. I realized that I need a spiritual mentor... so I am going to manifest one.. call one in...

I realised that the Sacred in my life today is my garden and the peace I receive from it. A place to sit and ponder... a place to receive healing from Mother Earth.

October Full Moon in Woodford

I couldn't let the full Moon pass without a post...

The full Moon - a time for attraction spells of all kinds, full of energy to draw those things that you wish for, into your life.... time for me to call my real life soul friend.*I wish for a sacred circle. One where women can come together to share their journeys, joyfully. Where we can satisfy our inner need for community, of the Goddess. Like in ancient times where we sat and shared, laughed, cried and discovered our true selves. sometimes pampering ourselves, sometimes learning, sometimes meditating together, sharing rituals and spells, walking in nature. I call this group now... here in the mountains.... may their souls hear my call*

the full Moon is in Taurus today. At exactly 2:51 pm . According to my notes this is our Purple Moon, because in some parts of New South Wales, the jacaranda is blooming, but not so, here in Woodford, where it is a little cooler than most areas. Our nights are still chilly and the past few days have been drizzly rain.

the past few weeks - we have had seasonal oddities... heat up to high 30's celsius and cold down to 7 degrees celsius - so a real mixed bag... one day I am frantically trying to keep plants alive...then the next day, a reprieve of light drizzle and cooler weather. The spring green of new growth is vibrant.

The leaves of early spring flowering bulbs are all neatly tied up to conserve energy for next years flowering. The orange trees are heavy with blossom, making the bees giddy with delight of the abundance of pollen. ... empty cicada shells cling tightly to trees... where they were left in a burst of birth... while the newly hatched cicadas are singing their final song. loudly I must say. Roses are bursting forth in the first springtime display...

this Moon in Woodford is being noted in my Book of Shadows and Light as the 'SONG OF THE CICADA Moon' (and just as typed this out... they started to sing, for the first time this morning, as if they were confirming my choice!)

New Moon in Libra - a time to let go.

The Wiccan Rede says "when the Lady's Moon is New, kiss your hand to her times two"

the new moon in Libra today... I woke to a stillness only broken by the magpies calling each other in the white flowering gum. A stillness where there were no bees buzzing, no cicadas, not a breath of a breeze and I knew the moon was resting before she starts to breathe in again. A time for us to rest & regenerate, to fast or detox or to kick a bad habit. This new Moon is one where we can let go of past pain and last night I wrote my list. Tomorrow morning I am going on a early morning walk to a lookout far from 'people' where I will let my past pain drift off to our ancient ancestors...
above is a photo of a Banksia Man, these grow on an Australian native called 'Old Man Banksia' - can you see the face? These seed pods peer out at me as I walk through our bushland and when I was a little girl, they scared the living daylights out of me...
below: my grandson Thomas.. he is 8 and a lovely soul. We went on an artists date on Tuesday. We walked around some National trust gardens, just noticing things of nature and talking about what we saw.... sharing.

and then we sat down to our picnic lunch. I packed a sandwich each, a bottle of lemonade for Tom and a bottle of water for me. I also packed pencils, sketch books, scissors, paper & glue. And a bottle of bubbles! As I unpacked, Thomas yelled out; 'Grandma, you think of everything... lemonade & bubbles... how did you think of that?' and 'grandma, you are the best!!!'

- my heart sang.. we sat and ate, blew bubbles and I journalled while Thomas sketched.......

Lately, I am thoroughly enjoying researching the Moon and I am thinking of finding a course next year. Maybe I can manifest one! Make that: I will manifest one!
I have had a feeling in my heart centre, the past week or so.... and I just realized that this feeling, this 'pain' or 'ache' is actually my heart chakra opening. It is an amazing feeling, not a bad pain at all but like my heart centre is filling with Love. I have never felt anything like it...is this called self-love?
Finally! all the affirmations, the being aware of negative thoughts and patterns, the journalling....are coming to fruition... these, plus finally realizing that there is a grand plan and I just have to be open to it... that there is indeed syncronicity & magick at work.... makes me a very happy soul.

scrap bag post ~ moon magick and my adventures among other things....

"the village witch was an herbalist, spell-caster, interpreter of dreams, healer, midwife and psychologist. In times where there were no or very few skilled doctors, she was the people’s only resource against injury and disease"

On the weekend, Joe and I went for a lovely ride, in the Spring sunshine, or so we thought. The wind whipped up as we rode through the mountain and at times, I felt like Mary Poppins, if I had an umbrella, I would have been flying off into the wild blue yonder! The weather stayed sunny but it was freezing! Thank heavens i had my thick leggings on and my leather jacket!

We rode over the ranges and into Lithgow and decided to take a detour to a famous lookout - Hassan's Walls. The most amazing view.

I was walking around looking for a nature object, for my altar and found alot of Old Man's beard growing on a bush, which I gathered to make my very own smudging herbs. This is something I was told about when I had my Dreaming treatment (I am still sorting out the post explaining it.. will do soon, I promise)

I wanted Joe to take a photo of me sitting on the edge.. after I got settled, the wind whipped up to a gale and I was sitting feeling very insecure...Old Man's beard grasped in one hand and trying to hang on to the rock with the other.

Been busy in my garden the past few days too - beetroot is in, my potatoes are up & I am just about ready to put my beans in - I planted some thyme in my sacred space for the faeries:~ Thyme is associated with fairies. Wearing a sprig of wild thyme, or essential oil of thyme, is said to help one to see fairies. If you place springs of thyme on your closed eyes and sleep upon a fairy mound, will supposedly guarantee your seeing fairies. Dried, powdered thyme, sprinkled on doorsteps and window sills, is an invitation to the fae into your home. Wild thyme, gathered from the side of a fairy mound, is especially potent for use in fairy magic.

...oh and before I forget, if you want a post card from the Blue Mountains... just mention it here - I have two more left!

moon water tonic

Tonic waters containing the energies of the moon embody very powerful healing benefits that bring about integral balance and wholeness throughout the body, mind and soul. Clear quartz crystal catalyzes the absorption of lunar energies as well as amplifies the healing benefits.

To Prepare Moon Water
1. Wait for a clear night, preferably on or right before the full moon. put your crystal in a clear glass and cover with one cup of purified water.
2. Check an almanac for the exact time of sundown on the day you have chosen. At sundown, place the glass out of doors in a moonlit place (cover the glass with clear plastic wrap).
3. Remove the glass at dawn. The water is now filled with lunar potency. Drink the moon water every morning to prepare your body, mind and spirit for the stress of the day.

September Full Moon in Woodford

the full Moon is in the sign of Aries today, at exactly 5.45am this morning here in Woodford - I can feel a stillness this morning as if the Moon is resting before she starts to breath out again .. According to my notes, this is the Air moon but wandering around my garden, with all the plants doing their best to put on a Spring display.. it just has to be a more creative name.. the first bird I heard as I stepped out my door was a little Bulbul, sitting in the ancient apple tree... I wonder if his ancestors have done the very same, year after year, spring after spring...visiting this tree at blossoming time to partake in some spring nectar? My lilac is just starting to open, promising a delightful perfumed future....
so this full Moon of September - I have decided to call "the Bulbul Lilac moon".

LILAC taken this morning at the full moon ~ September 2007

my crystals have been recharging in the moonlight for the past few nights, I have had the moonstone pendant charging under the Southern Hemisphere Full Moon in readiness to be sent to Leanne in the UK and a few other crystals that needed charging as well as my new chrysoprase pendant that I bought myself last week to help heal my inner child.

"Sun and Moon are directly opposite one another; some people can feel unbalanced at this time. What some cannot cope with is the pull of the different directions. The pull between our inner and outer lives. We must try to overcome this and use this time to fulfil our projects. Our creative juices run freely and we feel most inspired ~ The adverse effect of the Full Moon can be more on the physical body, if we can't channel our creativity at this time, we can become hyper, disorientated, feeling slightly off balance, in fact actually feeling the physical sensations of dizziness and sickness " ~ Daisy

Today I have week 5 of the Artists Way and I am really enjoying it - something is shifting on a deep level for me, I can feel it. Along with the counselling, the Soul Purpose book by Sonia Choquette and a few other things, I finally feel like I am finding soul peace. Life is indeed good here at Inglewood!

waning moon & a poem that I love

we are in the waxing moon stage right now and Mother Earth exhales - giving off information... that is probably why I am not having alot to say at the moment... I am absorbing and gathering information.. tomorrow is Spring Equinox here in Australia...

this morning at 4am - I had to wake up, get myself ready and take Sophie to the airport in Sydney. She has gone on a 10 day holiday with her boyfriend and his parents to Airlie Beach & Daydream Is. off the coast of north Queensland..... she is on her Year 12 break at the moment and in October she sits for her Higher School Certificate. I am going to miss her BUT I am SO looking forward to this time alone... just Joe and I. Tomorrow, I am off to have a 3 hour Aboriginal Dreamtime body & soul treatment. I CANNOT wait !!!

I found this poem awhile back - it was for Daisy's poetry fest... so I thought I would share it today :~

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made:
Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee;
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.

and she breathes in.....

I know a bank where the wild thyme blows, where oxlips and the nodding violet grows.
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
with sweet musk-roses and with eglantine
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

doesn't the above sound just delicious? so the new moon is here - at last I seem to have found an answer to coping with the dark of the moon... I know that I get like this the week before the new moon... and I need to withdraw, to go inward, to just accept how I am at that time instead of fighting it and I need to nurture myself. The weather really indulged me this dark of the moon - it was cold and rainy - perfect! Joe let me sob for an hour on Friday night and then took things in hand - he made me boiled eggs with toast for my tea and a steaming hot cup of tea.. then ordered me to have a bath... so I indulged my goddess - I poured a long deep bath, tipped a good cup of my bath salts in, plus a handful of tumbled moonstones, lit some candles and turned the lights out... then I just sank deep into the water - absorbing the healing energy of the moonstone.
Then I went to bed with a pile of moonstones under my pillow and my moonstone pyramid under my bed..... that was some of Daisy's advice when she first noticed that this dark time of the moon really affected me.

Saturday dawned rainy and cold again, I slept in til 8am then we headed out to breakfast and off to Blackheath to the hippy shop where I bought myself another moonstone pendant and a gorgeous glass hanging lantern. And on Sunday, I just created, in my Book of Shadows for the new moon. I am amazed, as usual, how Mother Nature can heal me - as I sat, melancholy in my pink snuggly chair.. a blue wren flew up to the window and tapped hello to me... he kept doing it on and off all day.... as if to say 'don't be sad, see how pretty I am,' reminding me that I am not alone.......

I have a little gift to give away - now that I have two moonstone pendants, I think I would like to give one to someone who is affected by the moon just like I am... so if you are affected by the moon and would benefit from wearing this pendant, just let me know here in a comment and i will draw one name out... and my little birds will be flying off with a parcel sometime next week... Julie Maries faery gift was sent yesterday and Laurie's goddess package is on its way too!
oh and I mustn't forget this day 6 years ago - sending peaceful & healing thoughts today.

August full moon in Woodford

The full Moon is in the sign of Aquarius at exactly 8.35pm tonight. According to my chart this full moon is the Wattle moon for us in Australia but here in Woodford, the wattle starts to flower in July. Over the past week in my garden - the violets are flowering profusely even more than last month. Poking their dark purple heads up above the sea of heart shaped leaves, giving a violet scented waft to my garden. The birds are setting up house - nests are being built... eggs are being laid.... the perfume of the daphne still pervades my garden, as though the plant is making sure to give me perfumed memories so that I won't forget her until her return next winter..

At the moment in my garden the flowering plums are in full flower. Gorgeous shades of pink faery floss blossoms, full of nectar that tempts the wattle birds into tasting the first honey of spring... because of this burst of PINK, I am going to call this August full moon - "The SPRING-FLOWERING PINK PLUM BLOSSOM MOON"

so what am I going to do today? It is supposed to be about 25C degrees here today! another trick of Mother earth? tempting us with springtime weather when she is planning her last hurrah of winter? not sure, but I will probably be in my art room all day today... Joe built me some cupboards, weeks ago and I want to put everything away so that I can at least see the floor. I know many 'artists' create in clutter but I am finding that clutter is sending me loopy and nothing gets created by me. According to my moon diary it is a good day to do some divining... I think I might take my pedulum down to the sacred space under the pine tree, where the faeries live & do some dousing for power spots and lay lines. I am sure something is here in my yard..call them what you will, lay lines or faery chains... I can feel it.

Tuesday and life continues on. .

a long day yesterday.. leaving at 6am and home at around 9pm. many hours spent sitting and waiting. Mum came through the very well. The operation took about 5 hours and she was taken to cardiac intensive care unit, so last night I could only spend 5 mins with her, but at least I saw her after her operation. The Drs. are keeping her sedated for 12 hours and will then take her off the respirator and gradually bring her off sedation. She looked so tiny and frail in the bed. But I am so thankful that she is ok! Thankyou, for each prayer, good thought, candle and anything else that you sent to us... it was all heard and taken by the angels.

So today I am spending playing catchup - catch-up with washing, cleaning and hopefully in the afternoon, gardening. I have my late winter potato tubers to put into the ground. I want to harvest some lavender and start on my new sacred space garden, which I must tell about soon! I feel I have been away from blogging for so long but i look and it is only a few days. I have so much to tell about my garden and what is happening around me, but I haven't been able to sit and concentrate! Once I get all my planned chores and stuff over and done with today, I will sit and come visit my blogging friends. Oh and don't forget the dark of the moon... three days before the new moon and two days after... all of you who are feeling lost and lonely and not quite settled - take this time to snuggle, to rest, to nurture yourself... read Daisy's post on the moon phases.

July full moon in Woodford

the full moon in the sign of Aquarius today. naming my moon down here for me...according to the information that I received at witches school a few weeks ago - it is the frost moon... but the past week I have been observing just what is happening in my neighbourhood and the first thing that comes to mind is the early flowering wattle which is blooming all through the bush right now... bringing sunshine on cold and cloudy days.. a brilliant burst of gold...

The winter flowering wattle is also blooming and the wattle birds are making a racket. with their kak, kak-kak call.. as they chase other birds away from the Scribbly bark eucalypt that is in white flower now & the magpies are starting to warble...so I am going to name this July moon -
"The WINTER-WATTLE MAGPIE MOON" because the yellow blooms of the wattle brighten up the green-grey of the bush, the call of the wattle bird tells me that spring is not far away and the magpies begin their breeding in July....the flowering plums are swelling in bud, the violets are in flower.. there is a slight hint spring although the day is still cold. If this July moon was at the beginning of July, I would probably call it "THE FROST MOON" or even "THE COLD STILL MOON"

time to put crystals out tonight to get their full moon boost. Last month every single crystal of mine went out and bathed in the moonlight so this full moon I am only putting a few out... my amethyst is going out because it is used constantly..placed under my bed to bring peace and calm to my soul as i sleep. The other one that is going out is the large smoky quartz cluster that sits in front of my computer screen to absorb negtivity from the internet... both will be cleaned today, smudged then placed outside overnight.

*~* I hope your day is filled with butterflies, magick, colour & fripperies! ~*~

dreams & the moon

I have been having odd dreams lately.

"I was standing, talking with Daisy, who pointed out that I had a white feather on my shoulder, I casually said to her that I had them often. She flicked the feather away and it floated to the ground, instantly two more floated down and landed on my shoulders and Daisy flicked them off..this continued with feathers multiplying each time they were flicked off.... until we were being covered with white feathers as is they were heavy snow."
the other dream was just as odd....

I was casting a sacred circle and people started to heckle me, so i just walked away. Next thing I knew, I was being chased by a woman who wanted to explain to me about the 'wrongness' of what I was doing... I was hiding in buildings and car parks and she kept yelling for me to come out, that she wasn't going to hurt me and I couldn't hide forever.... I think this was a modern day version of a witch-hunt. I woke in a cold sweat....

we are in the waning time of the moon right now, heading towards the dark of the moon, where the moon rests & seems to hide her face from us ~ a time of reflection and rest. She then turns New in the middle of her dark phase. The new moon is coming up on July 14. She starts to show her face on the second day of her new phase. This is a time for new beginnings. If you plant seeds by the new moon you will be ensured a wonderful harvest - this especially relates to herbs. The plants and herbs that are commonly associated with the Moon are:- Calamus, Camellia, Camphor, Coconut, Eucalyptus, Gardenia, Grape, Jasmine, Lemons, Lemon Balm, Lily, Lotus, Mallow, Moonwort, Myrrh, Poppy, Sandalwood and Willow, any silver or white leaved plant also, like lamb's ear & artemesia

I really struggle with the waning moon time and searched through the saved emails from Daisy - I knew somewhere she had mentioned to me about my moon moods ~ I am sure these words will help one or two of you who struggle with the influence of the moon:

"You know, I think you are a very old soul, and that your panics on the dark day of the moon are buried deep within your soul's memory, or probably as the more scientific would like to say within your genetic memory. It is almost like a deep rooted fear that the light will not return from early man's tribal days, where they would have the moon in the sky waxing and then waning and disappearing, how they must have celebrated when that thin crescent reappeared. I also think, like me, you have a great reliance on the moon. you know I must have a point every full moon when I can sleep with it bathing my face in light, if it is a cloudy full moon I feel really cheated. Have you tried wearing a moonstone on the dark day, you can power them up in the full moon and then bring them out when the moon is really waning."

so it is time for me to get my moonstones out and take her advice. There is so much information about the moon and I love to read about it... making a moon garden would be fun...

today, I have my grandson Thomas with me - it is our school holidays. I am taking him to Blackheath and we are going to the Sacred Lotus hippy shop and then onto a couple of crystal shops.... I want to buy some faerie crystals and a few other crystals for a gift-away that I am planning and I need to find some white feathers for my spirit elemental that I am making for my witch school homework.... it is really cold here today, I would not be surprised if we came across some snow!
