aragonite...and TLC

I want to introduce you to another crystal of mine - Aragonite. I first ever heard of Aragonite when I did my first crystal workshop some years ago. My teacher mentioned that she gridded her bedroom with it to absorb the electromagnetic smog that came from a power box outside her room.. so I bought myself 4 little pieces of aragonite sputnik, cleansed and programmed them and put them in the corners of my bedroom and promptly forgot about them... a few weeks ago when I took my grandson mr Thomas to my favourite crystal shop in Katoomba, I saw two gorgeous pieces of pink 'rock' - when I asked what they were, I was told 'pink aragonite.' I went home and fretted that I didn't buy a piece, next morning I was up there bright and early to buy myself a piece...when I came home, I felt the other piece call me so I went the next day to buy it, yes, crystals do let you know that they want to go home with you!

..Pink aragonite is not commonly found as a piece like this as it is usually used to carve into shapes such as buddha, faeries or angels, so I feel very blessed that I have two pieces. This piece above, sits beside my bed... I believe it is a faery crystal... there is something definitely in the brown coloured area... take a closer look and tell me what you think....
ARAGONITE - a reliable earth healer & grounding stone. It deepens our connection with the earth. it teaches patience and acceptance and helps to combat over sensitivity. It is useful in times of emotional stress, providing strength and comfort. It calms and centres spiritual development in those times when you feel out of control. It would probably be good to have near your computer - it would absorb the electromagnetic energy ! I actually use a smoky quartz cluster for that.
Funny that this crystal should choose me - I needed it for sure

Mum came home on Sunday - we went to pick her up from the hospital and took her to her home... she is coping well and her Dr is very pleased with her progress. Yesterday, I finally got to see my osteopath to fix my neck and shoulders. I was so stressed yesterday, I had chest pains and ended up in tears... thank heaven for the man in my life.. he is treating me with lots of understanding and TLC... a lovely bath, some candles and a good night sleep is what I needed.. I still have this dreadful ache in my chest though, if it doesn't get better, I will be making an appointment to see my Dr, although I am sure it is just stress.
Today, I hope to get my washing up to date and my computer room into some kind of order. Do a sage cleansing around the computer.. get the crystals in place and then work on some creating. Ages ago, I promised a doll and some tea to Gill from *Gills place* and I really must get the doll finished and sent. Tomorrow, I hope to get into my garden and take some photos for a meme that I found on *Tea & Margaritas* ...

July full moon in Woodford

the full moon in the sign of Aquarius today. naming my moon down here for me...according to the information that I received at witches school a few weeks ago - it is the frost moon... but the past week I have been observing just what is happening in my neighbourhood and the first thing that comes to mind is the early flowering wattle which is blooming all through the bush right now... bringing sunshine on cold and cloudy days.. a brilliant burst of gold...

The winter flowering wattle is also blooming and the wattle birds are making a racket. with their kak, kak-kak call.. as they chase other birds away from the Scribbly bark eucalypt that is in white flower now & the magpies are starting to warble...so I am going to name this July moon -
"The WINTER-WATTLE MAGPIE MOON" because the yellow blooms of the wattle brighten up the green-grey of the bush, the call of the wattle bird tells me that spring is not far away and the magpies begin their breeding in July....the flowering plums are swelling in bud, the violets are in flower.. there is a slight hint spring although the day is still cold. If this July moon was at the beginning of July, I would probably call it "THE FROST MOON" or even "THE COLD STILL MOON"

time to put crystals out tonight to get their full moon boost. Last month every single crystal of mine went out and bathed in the moonlight so this full moon I am only putting a few out... my amethyst is going out because it is used constantly..placed under my bed to bring peace and calm to my soul as i sleep. The other one that is going out is the large smoky quartz cluster that sits in front of my computer screen to absorb negtivity from the internet... both will be cleaned today, smudged then placed outside overnight.

crystals and springtime

I know that there is still one more month of winter, officially. But yesterday, there was that hint of spring, that feeling of growth. A feeling in my soul. I was inside cleaning my bathroom thinking of the coming of springtime and the magpies started carolling. They could feel it too! They are calling to each other, finding places to build their nest, to keep the circle going.. The flowering plums and cherries are ready to burst into flower, the pear tree is getting ready to put on her spring outfit once again, with the promise of spring... but not just yet... the faeries know of the fickleness that is sometimes Mother's nature.....if they allow their charges to burst into flower just yet - the clothes could be zapped off with Jack Frost....

one of my biggest loves are crystals. I have done a few courses on crystal healing and once a month I go and have a crystal healing and balancing. I truly believe that crystals can help our body heal itself. I don't believe that they are magick in such a way that you place a crystal on some part of your body and it instantly takes the illness away. Our bodies, our chakras, our homes.... in fact most things in our lives, all have different vibrational frequencies... and there is a crystal that matches each vibration... sometimes our bodies and chakras start vibrating or spinning abnormally, bringing dis-ease and unbalance. This is where crystals come into there own. Much like a tuning fork, to help the body come back into balance at a healthy vibration. Crystals can also work on this level to re-balance the energy in room or space. You do not need a crystal to be touching you to benefit from its use.

some of you have asked how to choose a crystal, how you know which one is 'right' for you... well, I believe that crystals choose us, not the other way around, ... when I want a crystal for myself, I just go into the shop and start to browse - touching, holding and seeing which crystal resonates.. which one makes my hand tingle or something inside, says yes! this is the one for me. I have been known to walk around the shop for half an hour just holding a crystal to feel its vibration. If you are drawn to a particular crystal because of its colour or shape, then this is good enough reason to buy it!
unless of course you want a specific crystal for a specific problem - if that is the case, I suggest doing some research into the healing properties of crystals to find just which crystal is appropriate then go and let it find you.
There is one difficulty that I face often, when I go to buy a crystal. I find that they are all so beautiful that I want to buy them all. So the best guide is really your own instinct. If you like it and it feels good in your hand then it is the right one for you. Trust yourself.
When buying crystals for someone else, I just really use the same process, keeping them in my thoughts as I wander around the shop. You are buying the crystal out of love, friendship and kindness - all positive energies, which will only attract the same..

another little peek @ BOS and cleansing crystals

continuing on through the book of shadows ~

When I first ever saw this photo of Daisy, I knew immediately that I wanted to do something with it.... we both loved Wizard of Oz, so I glittered up her shoes with red glitter glue and made her a little, black tuille skirt. And of course the black cat - all witches have one, I am told.... Although I didn't know her when she was small, I am sure she was a wise little girl. On the right hand page - another piece of the mystical castle with collage words "she believed in magic" - and of course, she did ..... next is Imbolc....

Daisy thought it would be a good idea to start off with the sabbat, Imbolc.... on the left page is a pocket made from an old encyclopedia page about marsh flowers and tucked into the pocket, I placed a tag that could be used as a bookmark, I was also going to put a packet of seeds into the pocket. I painted the right hand page with white paint, leaving some words that actually made sense for the season.... then stamped 'spring is coming' on some old fabric... and next we have Spring Equinox ~

first of all I painted both pages pink and I made a fabric quiltie for the right hand page, using some vintage lace and flowers. On the left hand side, I copied a Spring Blessing onto some rice paper and glued it down one side......

and underneath ~ just a few pictures of spring...... and some words that I thought springtime would be for Daisy ~ butterflies * march hares * seeds of hope * violets so that is a little more of this altered Book of Shadows .

yesterday, I went out to lunch with Joe and after, I ended up going back to my favourite shop of the moment - Frou-Frou, (I must take some photos to share) and bought some wonderful vintage buttons, some old pearls and some real ostrich feathers! I also bought a wonderful old lantern to hang in my kitchen. I used some of the ostrich feathers on my Elemental spirit doll, which I might add is looking quite gorgeous.. i will share her when i have finished. It was a really chilly day - a cold that goes into your bones, it has been like this for a few weeks now... so I have had my fire burning constantly over the past few days - I love living where I do, here in the mountains, it is truly a special sacred place. at this time of year, when I go outside, I can smell the wood fire smoke... I love it, so comforting..not good for the environment I guess....but well, I need to keep warm.

a few of you have asked how to clean crystals. There are many ways and many opinions. You can run them under water but some crystals actually dissolve in water, you can put them out into the sunlight but some fade, some people even bury them into the ground, which works I guess, but good luck finding them again! I find the best, easiest and the one that suits my soul is to smudge with a herbal smudge stick or incense. All you need to do is hold the crystal and circle it with the incense, letting the smoke fully engulf the crystal. Imagine all the negative energies being drawn out and dissipating with the smoke. The moon is not used to cleanse crystals but to charge them and I will share what I know about that in a day or two.

Another thing too, I am thankful & blessed to have so many friends here.. the past weeks, i have realised just how many of you are my friends, thankyou xoox

oh and don't forget to comment on the post about the Imbolc giftie!
