their little faces look so sad sometimes, it breaks my heart. Do you think my love will help them get through this sad time?

It will.
Sweet Mother of Life, it will help them. Even if you can't see it now, it will.
Blessed be all your work to help your family in their bad times, and blessed be that bold, good heart of yours, with all the love and the strength to do it.

A Grandma's love is never wasted or for naught! You are helping to build their tomorrows!

How precious. So happy you got to spend some time with them. I know you gave them lots of hugs and love.
I understand so well what you are going through with this. My grandson Tristan lives with his Mom in another town. We don't get to see him as often as we'd like. We Grannies are stuck in the middle.
We just love them as much as we can when we get a chance.

Your love will definitely help them. Children need to know that they are loved, and that what happense with the adults is NOT their fault.

Thank you for commenting on my blog. Wow, you sure have traced your family back. My Cornwall ancestors were the Pollards and alas, I haven't much found anything on them prior to the early 1700's in New Jersey. I also have Scotland, Britain, and Ireland. I see you work for non-profit, so do I. But alas, I have no grandchilden and none on the horizon.

A grandmother's love is the best, and never forgotten. My brother and I still discuss how we don't know how we would have managed without the emotional support of our Nan and Gramp when we were young, but particularly my dear, dear gentle Nan, with her outings, her cooking, and wicked sense of humour. As you know, it's an extremely important job Robyn and a blessed one.(I used to love the way her hands would catch on brushed nylon - I loved those hands, especially when she brushed my hair, yet she probably hated them and saw them as rough and dry.)Nans are special.

It certainly will Robyn♥ I have no doubts whatsoever that you are a nuturing, loving and kindness itself type of Grandmother and I'm sure the boys treasure every moment spent with you.
