Dr. French.. I love the name..

the first appointment over and done.
I have breast calcifications. a few very small spots.
On Monday afternoon, I am going to Westmead clinic to have a mammotone biopsy where they take samples of the calcifications to see if they are cancerous. [this will hurt.]
then we go from there. I now have my own breast cancer nurse who I can call if I have fears or questions. I have her mobile number. which actually does put my fears at rest to a certain extent.
I asked Dr. French if it is cancer. he cannot say yes or no until he gets the results back next week
FACT: 80% of calcifications ARE NOT cancer. I have a one in five chance of these lumps being cancerous. which are very good odds

[at the moment, I wish I could lose myself in this street scene somewhere in Paris.. much like Mary Poppins did in the chalk pavement drawings.]

FACT: I am still bloody scared. I am still trying desperately hard to stay in the present moment and stop my mind from galloping into the Land of Whatifs...
[thanks so, so much for your continuing prayers, thoughts, comments and constant support.. I need you all more than ever at the moment. you are all my very own angels!]

four out of five odds are good. Will think of you on Monday (I'll be stuck in a Mastering Excel Spreadsheets workshop, sigh). Hope the tests are bearable and the results good - and fast. Take care!

Once we have finished feeding our babies I think we should all have our breasts removed!! Drastic but at least women wouldn't have to go through this all the time.

I could certainly live without mine, they just get in the way most of the time anyway!!! :)

Here's hoping for good results!!

Positive thoughts, Robyn. You KNOW that! When those bad thoughts filter in, brush them aside IMMEDIATELY. It's true that calcifications are very common, especially as we get older. I have them too. Here is a special hug for you (((Robyn))), now get rid of those butterflies in your tummy. Release them to the winter woods. You know the universe only wants to let the sun shine into your heart. xoxoxoxoxo

Hello again, I feel this is good news but I know that until confirmation is given you will still worry. Absolutely normal and something that every women would do. As I said yesterday I have been there and you do automatically go down the route of the ifs but try your hardest to stay in the now. Only just found your blog and have read it with interest. I live in Cornwall I am not Cornish but certainly love this small celtic county of ours. Lynne xxx

I think it's very promising news. Try to concentrate on that 80% that are ok. And with a doctor named French....well, my mind could wander to some really interesting places!!!

You have every right to be scared. I know how I would be. Just know that you have many friends who love you and care for you and are with you all the way. My prayers are with you.

You've come so far forward in your consciousness. You will be much more of an advocate for yourself with every step of the way, whatever that is. You are stronger, soul-wise than you were before. That counts for something. You will prevail!

If you like your Dr French, think of his obstetric counterpart, Michel Odent who had all his expectant mothers singing for an hour every day and spearheaded the back to natural childbirth movement. On another note, do you have dandelions where you are? Gail Faith Edwards has been talking about using the grated roots as a poultice for breast issues such a cysts etc. Hawthorn flower essence for courage too.

Well, Robyn, it sounds good so far. Nurture yourself and think only good thoughts - I'm including you in my meditations and prayers and you have a special gift on the way which I hope you'll love. Keep your chin up. Much love.
