"She seemed to come suddenly upon happiness as if she had surprised a butterfly in the Winter woods"

time spent in the garden...and waffling on about the shower..

while in the shower this morning, I had one of the most profound thoughts/enlightenments that i have had for ages (why is it that those thoughts come while under the shower, I really must get myself a journal for the bathroom )... I was thinking of my spiritual journey (as I do tend to always, consumed by it I am).. a thought wafted through my mind - the magick is within me (actually truth be told.. many have told me the magick is within me.. I just didn't see it or believe it..) I have been going around looking for it in 'things'.... I understood while in the shower that don't need to look outside of me.. it is all within (maybe everyone else already knew this.. I am always the last to realize things like this).. which makes alot of sense really.. I do 'hear' alot of wisdom when I am sitting alone in my sacred space.. in a meditative state or when I am in the garden or even mindlessly washing up - now I have to learn to trust those thoughts & visions.. .. I think that is my inner wisdom, my higher self who is talking to me...
oh yes, all those gorgeous puttery things I do to create magick in my life, those things that I talk about here... setting the scene, creating ancestral altars, lighting candles, burning incense, having little moon ceremonies.. creating magickal things like brooms, wreaths and wands.. they are all part of it... that IS the magick within, manifesting in the physical....

I spent quite a few hours in my garden today - the day was brilliant.. sunny but chilly.. I donned my old flannelette shirt, work boots and warm pants and proceeded to work in the back yard.. finally getting my strawberry runners in so that they can settle in for springtime & then hopefully to go on to produce summer fruits

Joe dug the bed a few weeks ago and my runners arrived from Diggers club last week.. so the bed has been waiting for me to finish it off with compost & straw.. we use bricks around our garden beds.. and surprisingly Laura did the same in her garden many years ago..

cleaning up the pond and getting it ready for the frogs in spring ( I do hope they make my pond their home & maybe a few dragonflies too!)... pruning the clematis, picking lemons

lemons freshly picked ready to take to Mum on Tuesday... perfect for this cold winter weather

I thinned the carrots and harvested the last of my comfrey leaves to make a comfrey tea for my springtime vegetables....I had a grand old time in the garden...

my lachenalias are flowering now... I can remember my grandma had hers in a similar pot... she called them 'soldiers'... I guess they do look like soldiers standing at attention!

don't forget Full Moon is coming up this week.. the Full Moon Earth healing.. the clay discs are on their way and will be there in time for August Full Moon.. if you would like to join in, please email me and I will put you on the email list!

i love seeing your garden!

yes the magic is within~its within all of us, but so many do not or cannot listen or indeed know it is there but cannot quite extract the whisps of it into their real lives. i think in this day and age with so many people being brought up not to believe in the magical and mystical (things so normal to our ancestors!) that they find it hard, coming to it later, to bring it out and wholly accept it~of course it makes up part of their journey~the finding of thier path and of course sudden revelations~which do not always come at the most opportune moment as you see!

My most brilliant ideas occur in the shower, too! Do they make waterproof journals? I can just picture myself having an epiphany in the shower and jumping out to write it down, but then not being able to read it later because the journal is wet. xD

Best wishes to you too. <3

I want, want, want some of those fresh picked lemons. That would be a luxury of which I can only dream!!!

Robyn, you are already one of the wisest women I 'know' I hope your shower revelations have given you further peace..

I hope you do know how lovely and magical you are. I always feel at home and more at peace once I come over here and sit a spell. You are like a gentle wise sister to me.

I spent this afternoon with my hands in the dirt at my new allotment... it was GREAT!! There is something very healing about getting down and dirty... so glad you have enjoyed your day in the dirt too! Looking forward to the full moon which I think I will spend at the allotment... it has such a very special feeling there... yes... it is always within... and yet we always look elsewhere.. lol!

I love that the magick is within you - I enjoy the feeling of knowing that within me is the ability to do be or create anything I want. Sometimes we can lose it, but it's always there, waiting for us to rediscover what is inside of us :)

You are lucky to have such a glorious garden Robyn, and you do a wonderful job of looking after it

This is lovely and it seems you are beginning to find your center in terms of some of the issues you've been pondering. I'm so very happy to read this! Lemons???? You can grow your very own lemons???? Now I am jealous of you!

I read somewhere about cleansing with water before meditations, and it reminded me of the Muslim practice of washing before prayers. I think water (even shower water!)cleanses and clarifies, and we are probably relaxed also, which helps. Lovely thoughts Robyn, as always.I had to scrub my hands and nails furiously before an appointment today because I could not resist going out into the garden- not the best timing. I can't bring myself to wear gloves because I love the feel and texture of the soil.Never have been one of those basket/secateur/hat ladies - more the flannie shirt and wild straying hair - you know where I'm coming from soil sister!!

The voice of the universe we "hear" is the voice of God who dwells within.
Those lemons look incredible-wish I could pop over and get a few...

I am so grateful to hear that it is finally sinking in. yay for you! The full moon is powerful this month because of an eclipse. Maybe this powerful energy got through to you and made you aware of something you knew deep within. The shower is always a place of inspiration. All that running water creating alpha brain waves or some such. Good for you,and yes, more disks on their way out into the world, helping us to establish new communication portals between the cosmos and Gaia. We hold the light together!

Thank you for the interesting comment... Would love to know more about your spirit dolls for one... I imagine the Aboriginal holy places are quite something. I am sure we can find a well or two when you come over... The personal goals thing is part of a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days and is all tagged on my blog and listed at the bottom of the right hand side...

I wish I had a waterproof shower journal too. I also get some great ideas under the running water.

Love your lemons!! Lucky you to be able to garden in winter.

Do you remember the Lovin Spoonful? A musical group from the 60's. They had a hit song called "do you believe in magic?" I loved that group. Loved that song. "...and the music's in the rhythm and the magic's in you" or something like that.

Good for you - to come to that realization. It's hard. Sometimes I believe it and sometimes, I still look for outer magic.

Blessings on your Full Moon ritual tonight. I'll be thinking of you and our earth healing sisters.
Love & Light

I have learned the hard way to be careful for what I wish for. Magic is all about both inside and out. I am glad you found your inner power.
