instant coffee in Inglewood.

Monday morning and the wind is howling around outside... these are not the August winds that we usually experience, but maybe they are early because Mother earth is confused or maybe this is just a taste of what is to come. .. I have to brave that wind soon and hang sheets and towels... let me ask you, if you happen to see any flying by can you tell me? or maybe you might see me looking much like the Egyptian mummy from a vintage movie.. wrapped in the sheets blindly walking around... yes, the wind does tend to make me a little ratty !! trees bending over, creating kindling sticks that I will pick up tomorrow.. doors rattling like all the souls from wherever are trying to get into my home, into the comfort and warmth that is my home at this time of year...
the fire is going and just before I start my usual Monday morning routine of cleaning my bathrooms and changing my bed sheets, I sat down for a cup of coffee. I usually sip nettle tea or some kind of horrid herbal tea that is good for me..but sometimes, a girl has to be naughty.. I don't drink alot of coffee, but I do look forward to the one that I have each morning before I start my housework, or my temple work as I am beginning to think of it... I don't own a coffee machine, nor do I own a dripolator, percolator or even coffee pot.. so it is instant coffee for me.. I can hear some of you now.. 'not instant coffee!!!' but yes, until the coffers allow me to purchase myself a cappuccino/espresso machine, I drink instant coffee, but I buy the best I can find and so far, the one I like is Nescafe Gold blend..

I sat in my big pink chair, in front of the fire, with Billie Holiday singing in the background... my mind was thinking of that first time that the jar is opened and the aroma that comes from it... and how the first cup from each jar is always special. And as I sat, I thought that this first cup from the newly opened coffee is truly something to be grateful for... and I got it!! I finally got it.... (well for that moment anyhow) I know I sound like a silly billy but this was one of those moments when the soul sighs with a deep 'ahhhhh...', an 'I get it' moment.... You see, I struggle with the grateful part of Simple Abundance because I try too hard to find things each day to be grateful for..the small simple things in life.
Today, I am creating a new altar in my bedroom.. changing some furniture around, moving energy... ... yes, the small simple things in life. clean sheets, rose incense, roses from the flush that is blooming in my winter garden, a vintage glass port bottle full of water beside my bed. Billie Holiday. you know, sometimes I even put one little rose in our ensuite.. for Joe to enjoy.. I am sure those simple things make his heart sing too... he might not say it, but I know it does.. it must, don't you think?

Hi Robyn! Wishing you a very happy Monday and great week ahead, with everything O.K. for little Harry. Beautiful little child you have in the picture there. I think he may just be the one in my poem!Check it out. And warm drinks are comforting aren't they,as are clean sheets. It was dismal weather here in South Aus. on the weekend, so let's hope there's much sunshine ahead for us, on all levels. Much love.

It's the simple things that are the abundance of life.

Is that one of those 'stop and smell the coffee' moments? :-) I don't do that enough. It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day and forget all the little pleasures there are to be grateful for.

Glad to hear Harry is better.

I do have that book, but I haven't looked at it for ages I must get it out again, it's probably just what I need right now.

Your harbour cruise sounds lovely, was the city packed with Youth Day pilgrims?

ahh Billie! Perfect for that snug winter's day with a good book...

I don't really love to drink coffee, but I DO love to smell it!

I bet your guy does enjoy the roses too. Those simple things - scents, flowers, colors, music - they do make life more enjoyable, don't they? Our cats attack roses whenever I bring them in though, so I mostly enjoy them outside, anymore~sigh~

Have a wonderful week! I love the smell of coffee but do not drink it at all. I hate the taste. William loves coffee so I can enjoy the smell while making a pot for him.

Scents make a difference! It's interesting. I was just telling my husband about your blog because of your post about eucalyptus, how he wants to buy some because that smell really penetrates a home and makes it feel special. I am glad you are doing rituals and adding special elements to your life that make you feel good. I've been seriously considering changing my crafts room to be more of a writing room, this gives me inspiration.

MMM Love my coffee (at least one cup a day) Temple work is a great way to approach caring for your home.:-)
Once when I put flowers in our bedroom....Lee (Macho Man) asked me to put them on my side of the bed....but I think he secretly likes them.

I use instant because it tastes less oily to me, than brewed. But, I can only have decaf now. For quite some time, actually. -sigh-

So next time you make yourself a cup of delicious _real_ instant coffee, please take an extra, deep, enjoyable sip, for me. :-) I'd so love to be joining you, in a cup of real instant coffee. :-)

Only 1 in the morning, and 1 in the afternoon, for me. Even though it's just decaf.

As to the rose, I certainly hope it makes his heart sing too.

You are so poetic! I love visiting your home in Inglewood. The way you describe it makes me feel as though I were there with you. Each of us has our idea of the perfect cup of coffee, too. You make a cozy home that feels safe and secure to any wayfairing stranger, even the one you can become at times as you wander in your search. This is very Hestian of you....The picture you paint, and it is such a treat to come here. Thank you for this great blessing. I'm sure it comforts all of us who come to visit. hugs, Sr.K

I think I left a comment on this entry, yesterday. About my instant decaf and etc. But... I don't see it........

I came back today, because I wanted to thank you much for your recent comment on my entry, about Discussion of the Look of Blogs. Especially thank you, because you had the guts to not just agree. :-)

'Tis glorious for each of us to have our own opinions. And Discussion means different opinions. Thank you!

Now I'm wondering...

Perhaps my last comment has not been published...

Because you were upset by my entry about reading Blogs...

And maybe you don't want me to come here, anymore.

If this be so, I will honor your wishes.

G'Day Robyn,
I am not a coffee drinker. I used to be but now it makes my tummy squeamish. I drink heaps of tea though.

When my sister lived at sublime point at Leura the wind used to rip her sheets off the line, up into the sky and over the cliff, never to be seen again. If bush walkers found them I can only guess where they thought they were from. Ha.
I am sure that Joe loves the special touches that you add to your home and is proud of your home making skills.

It sounds so nice and cozy, just wish I could come and see it for myself ; )
I know what you mean by always searching. My thought for this week in my training as a bard is also to recognize the simple things in life, so that book would be something to read right about now ; )
Have a great day !!!!
