spending time with my girls

dutch husband went off on a ride into the country side for the day..and I spent time with my girls

[and if you would like to see the girls in action..they are movie stars on youtube: my girls on youtube ]

I did try to take a photo of Pearl while she was laying an egg, but she flapped her wings and got most indignant about being on show, so I left her in peace.

I spent time giving my lavender a hair cut [i tend to be quite particular when pruning my lavender.. I do it stem, by stem. in a meditative way.. quietening my spirit as I do so. the lavender seems to thrive on this treatment, rewarding me often, with flower spikes aplenty] I also spent a few hours, feeding and mulching my apple trees in readiness for autumn. I love this time of year. it is most probably my favourite season... what is yours?

I don't know which is my favourite really - they all have their own merits. But if I had to chose one above all the others I guess it would be summer - a rather rare commodity in the north of Britain. Keep on being peaceful amongst the lavender and I'm sure the lump will be fine xxxx

Well it's now, so that we have in common, it's just mine is spring. Totally adore it, the burgeoning life, the changing colours from the dark of winter, the light increasing and the daffodils!

BTW my Angel cards are just little rectangles with a small angel drawing and a one word on, that fit neatly into the palm of my hand.

Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog. I am so touched!

And I agree with Pearl -- give a girl some privacy, ha ha!

Your girls are really quite beautiful. And they look well cared for.

My favorite season is autumn. I love the colors and how the sky always seems bluer....and I love the way the air feels softer than during the summer.

Autumn for me too, the first chill in the air,the leaves starting to turn colours, the delightful smell and crispness of Autumn. It is always such a welcome relief from our fierce summers here in Australia. I miss having chooks, and love that little brrr-ing noise they make pre-cluck! Rhode Island reds are my favourite.

It's hard to decide. Autumn is wonderful for sure. Spring is beautiful. Our winters are mild.
Summer is hot but I'm off work then and can vacation in cooler climate.
Whiff of lavender and "Bok bok" to Pearl and the girls.

I loved watching your girls. Love the way they use their little legs to kick the greens away.

I had forgot you had chickens, they are just adorable♥ Free range eggs, how wonderful. Even though I buy free range eggs they are not very fresh etc. Very relaxing watching the video. My favourite time in Australia is winter, cannot cope with the heat and humidity in summer now. Sorry I'm a little late catching up, hope today is much better for you Robyn (Tuesday). Linda xoxo PS Your lavender looks lovely, the bush I bought a few months ago died, I don't know what I am doing wrong as I read the instructions and did as I was told (for once).

Thank you for the pruning tip - I need to groom my lavenders which have been neglected, like all the garden, while I fight to regain a properly-functional right hand!
