a blessed and insane Spring Equinox in Woodford.

the world where i live has gone mad. today, Mother Nature is not a happy soul where I live. yesterday we were given a warning for gale force winds overnight.. what they forgot to tell us was that the wind was moving the Middle of Australia, to where I live. The middle of Australia consists of desert. red dirt. I think much of Uluru is now in our backyard pool..
not only that but severe weather in another state, bush fires in another and earthquakes in the state south of me..
here in Woodford, last night the winds were howling out of control. I thought the world had come to an end and all the demons in hell had been let loose, just like someone had predicted (I think it was John DeBosco, not sure though).. I thought those demons were having their one last chance before God pressed the delete button... but this morning, I was still alive... and when I looked out of the window, I thought that there had been an atomic bomb dropped in Woodford.. it was a very eeerie orange. yes, the sky, the air, everything was orange.. including my floors and every single surface in my home. Even the monk across the road looked more orange than usual. You see, there had been a dust storm overnight, the winds whipping up out west and bringing the red dirt into the coast via Woodford. And dumping it as it went, all over my home. The pool looks like a day spa.. all muddy.. with flower petals floating on top.. it looks like you could just jump in and have a body treatment..and of course, I am not happy. Not only does wind affect the chi energy in the body, it also governs the liver and anger.. plus, last week I did all my spring cleaning... my Spring Equinox plans went out the window .. I planned on having a lovely wander around my garden, welcoming in the Equinox but instead I vacuumed and washed floors...
but I did have a little chance to play this afternoon.. I made a Springtime crown for myself.. I just allowed myself to cut, glue, paint and decorate - I tried hard to shut my inner critic up..and now Buddha welcomes in Spring

That must have been so bizarre - everything covered in that orange dust. I'm sorry about your weather! That's why we need to work together, huh?

Much love.

That sounds spectacular and rather alarming. Autumn equinox here was a quiet, frsh day and a quiet still night, a day and night of delicate tones, balanced on the cusp...

Yikes! I'm glad you're unharmed! It sounds like Mother Nature was doing some spring cleaning of her own. I am glad you didn't allow all that dust to settle into your psyche and produced such a charming crown! :)

That must have been some wind!!
That's strange what you say about the wind governing anger because I love the wind and it makes me very happy. I feel alive and invigorated by it.
I can understand not liking the red dust, I wouldn't like that either but maybe the wind means different things to different people???

oh dear, I heard about this huge sand storm on the news this morning here in the States...I shall keep you all in my prayers. Mother Nature seems to be in turmoil here as well, areas of the southeast are having severe flooding (as in towns completely under water), just too much rain in a short period of time, these poor folks are just comimg out of a two year drought!

Holy Moly! Glad everything's okay now!

Buddha looks lovely!

Miss R, I would have not made it through the night. The wind makes me incredibly anxious. I'm sure it must have been quite awful....at the same time, I wonder about living in a part of the world like yours that reminds you that we really are quite primal although the rest of us live in areas where the wool is pulled over our eyes to that fact.

You live where the truth is always obvious...and I think listening to you share that with me is only one of the reasons that I love to come visit with you.

Love the crown Robyn - love it! Looks like Buddah does too. I really dislike windy days with a passion. I stay inside. I'm glad you said it disrupts chi because that's what it feels like.I find it strange others can like it when it disrupts me so much, but vive la difference!.It's been blowy here in S. Aust too, but nothing like you've experienced.I keep forgetting what a windy month September is, hopefully October will be less so.

Robyn, Welcome to my world (the desert). We have HUGE dust storms several times during the summer.
In fact I grew up with pink sheets that had been left on the clothesline when a storm came up. Could never get that dinghy pink color out of anything white.
Sending you love!

The media here in Canada are reporting that your dust storm was the worst one Australia has had for 70 years. And the photos are wild! That weird orange haze obscuring everything -- never seen anything like it!

I saw photos of this dust storm this morning ~ very eerie orange indeed. I loved your line about God pressing the delete button. I nearly spilled my morning tea all over myself.
I am glad you are safe and sound all though ~ and still able to find some time to make your wonderful crown. Happy Spring Equinox by the way!
Hugs))

My oh my!! WHat a storm = as others in the N hemisphere have said, it's lovely fall weather here in Oregon! 73* F yesterday - felt like a morning in Hawaii!! & after our HOT weather earlier in the summer, just felt balmy!
I have a favorite 'land clearing' or 'tune up' exercise from Molly Sheehan (green hope farm essences) that might be good to assist in the rebalancing http://vestellasvale.blogspot.com/search/label/land%20clearing

blessings & happy equinox!

Seeing the Sydney Opera House in orange is a surreal sight, must be horrid being in it. Hope your tranquility and clean pool come back soon!!

Robyn, we experienced the same here in Brissie....the orange-yellow atmosphere was so eerie and surreal. We shut up all our windows and doors but it still felt like we were breathing in dust and I'm still feeling clogged up today. The visibility was very poor too....and those WINDS!!! I have never experienced a dust storm like that before. The furniture under the pergola has a layer of red dust now. I hate cleaning as it is. :(

Yep, it sure seemed like Mother Nature was either angry about something or doing some cleaning of her own.

Btw, thanks for your advice re. my lavender plants...much appreciated. They seem to be picking up a bit since I've put them in full sun. :)

What strange energy is blowing about ushering in your Springtime! It must have been eerie to see all that orange. I remember a weird orange light in the night sky just before our famous ice storm.

Glad you are o.k. and your crown is beautiful!

It's nice to know you are going into spring as we are entering our fall season. I look forward to your posts and pics of springtime (less crazy, of course).
Hugs

Oh, I forgot to tell you - I hung laundry on my clothesline and left it out in the rain. The next morning when I went to take it inside and put it in the dryer, there were little green worms all over it. Ewwwww! Yuk. I rewashed everything with bleach. Didn't care if everything turned different colours with the harsh bleach - just wanted those worms to go away!(p.s. I haven't peeked in my washer yet to see if all the colours ran). LOL!

I saw that red dust storm on tv, Robyn, and a day or so before that I saw the dust storm that Gemma experiened in the Phoenix area, and I was wondering if The Grapes of Wrath was coming to life. It was a bit scary, knowing what these dust storms can do when they get too big and last too long. I hope history is not beginning to repeat itself but there sure are a lot of changes taking place on dear Mother Earth. I am glad you are ok, even if you have to do your Spring cleaning over again.

I was scrolling and saw your 80 year old letter. It was wonderful. And your art....well girl, you are already so talented at sewing and decorating and cooking and making beautiful, peaceful gardens, that you don't even need to add painting to your talents, but you have and I LOVE it!! It's beautiful and spiritual. UGOGIRL!!

The crown is delightful - I know Buddha is smiling.

I also missed your last post somehow, and just now saw your art ... Bravo! You did do it!

Australia is a tough and wild country. I know that is where it's beauty comes from, the fact that it is so dangerous and on the edge. I remember last year you all had a time of it also. Keep safe while nature does her raging.

What a lot going on all at once! We've been having the wildfires here - but thankfully the Santa Ana winds haven't kicked up as they were predicted to...Hope things calm down soon for you so you can enjoy your springtime. Buddha's crown is lovely!~xoxo

Sounds like quite the wind storm. I have to confess to enjoying storms (provided no one is hurt of course) and I find the wind cleansing. Don't envy you the clean up though. I thought I was the only one who put hats and decs on my Buddhas. It looks good.

Hi there Miss R

Have you had further winds and dust?

Our skies became very dusty looking again this afternoon and at sunset my photos from the top of the hill where I walked appear to be in sepia.

Happy days

What an expanding experience you just had. This must mean that soon you will be catching up to your higher self. Stay in a positive place, now that you have acknowledged the utter mess it has made of your life. You are ready to see all the ways that Gaia will use the energy she has churned up! hugs, Sr.K
