E is for .... and other stuff

it has dawned an absolutely brilliant day here in Woodford... gone are the wild & wet days and not a cloud in the sky. perfect for washing.. so I am busy as a bumble-bee getting all my clothes out into the sunshine... my soul is awakening from the cold days that we have been having.... as much as i hate the heat.. I realize I do need some warmth at this time of year.... autumn is on her way though... some trees have started to turn.... early for this year, so maybe we will get some heat in March....
after my post yesterday about blogging... a few of you said that you don't post alot on your own blogs, because your lives are boring.... NO-ONE's life is ever boring.... the mundane, little things in our day are the important moments... this is what people like to hear about...... the little butterflies that we notice in our gardens, the fresh food that we prepare in our kitchens, our thoughts as we hang our washing out, our creativity...... our hopes, our dreams, our wishes..... and yes, our concerns and emotional issues...... thankyou to each of you who commented..... alot of food for thought....*sigh* we are all such wise wonderful women !!!

and on to the ABC photo shoot from Woodford:-
this week is E - not an easy letter to be finding around my home or garden

E is for EcoSystem.... my compost heap or one of them. I have about Eight around my garden... all in various stages of decomposing... I use this gorgeous earthy compost to put around my vegies...

Espalier... the first one I have ever attempted.. a dwarf apple.. this is the first year so no fruit but if all goes to plan, next year I should be harvesting apples. in my garden, I have no Echinacea.. well, I did have but the snails ate it.. I don't have Erigeron growing as I think it is a weed...

and even inside this all I could find.....

Elephant..... a grEEn ElEphant...

which belongs to this.....

so you see, my life is pretty much E-less...

Your E's are elegant, dear Robyn. I always love reading about your day, and seeing little glimpses of your life.
I just scrolled down and read the post below, when you mentioned it. I do think there needs to be balance - I've been trying to find it myself though. Sometimes that may mean not posting as often or even reading others/commenting as often on every single post, but I know at this point, at least, I don't want to give it up altogether. Just strike a balance between virtual and real life. I think you might have a point about this being part of a higher, Divine plan - so people all around the planet, that care about it, might join together - there is strength in numbers, even in thought and prayer. Sending loving thoughts, prayers and hugs your way~XOXO

I am so looking forward to having our garden ready for a cloth line or “cloth spider” as those foldable spider-net looking things are called over here… We have to get the newly built house dry so it seems counterproductive to dry the clothes inside.
Wanted to post a comment yesterday on what reading blogs and writing my own one means to me – got lost somehow in the depths of the www. What I wanted to say was just what you are writing here – it is the little bits that added together ARE our lifes. To ourself it may be boring because it is often routine but others from far away may be interested in how life is out of their own little bulb. I think there must be some curiosity, empathy, sympathy on one side and on the other side some extraversion. And I often read that some blog was in the beginning meant to be something like a personal journal or for family members and friends and ended up with regular interested readers from all over the world. But I think it is important not to let it take over! Balance as tinker said is important.

For me blogging is about shrinking the world and connecting with people who'd never have contact with otherwise.
I can't tell you how important you are to me, and I would never have met you if it hadn't been for a blog.
It does though have to be balanced.
But as someone who doesn't see that many people daily, getting a ping in my inbox from a cyber friend makes me feel that there is love and friendship out there and maybe the coffee is virtual but it's still been drunk by someone who cares and that's enough.

I heard on the news you only got up to 12 degrees the other day. Very unseasonable. Good to hear it is a bit better.
The last month always seemed to drag for me while I was pregnant. All the best to your daughter and you for the new grandchilds arrival.
Um! E....
Is for EEEKKKK. I lifted up a pot plant the other day and found a big red centipede. They creep me out. E is for my sister Ellen, my elephant sized bum, Eric my husbands, now deceased, step father, another EEEKKK, Europe on the other side of the world, Eagle, the big red brown one, a wedged tailed eagle that circles rocky hill above me, looking for its dinner and scrambling the sparrows in my garden.
E is for effort, like Krissie said, you put lots into your blog to share with us.

I'm reading a book now called "Hearts of Horses" that a friend lent me. It is a novel that takes place at the turn of the century, (last) right around the 1st world war and is about the everyday lives of folks, mostly women, in the northeastern Oregon area. I muse at what a different their lonely and isolated lives would have been like if they could have reached out via the world wide web! They had
Sunday socials and quilting bees if they had a horse or a motor car to get them there. Otherwise they had to walk for miles on a dusty, dirt road. The thing is, it was the daily things they shared that helped them move forward in life and experience happiness where they could find it in the hardness of their lives. The same thinking was going on about the war and patriotism or if you disagreed with war, being seen as not being patriotict; if you came from German decent you were seen as a spy or "the enemy" (just like today with people of Arab decent) that we experience today in America. Things have gotten easier, but somethings still seem to be the same. This is why this vehicle we have for "getting around" at lightning speed is so great. We can now become less ignorant and more conscious and more united as a species. The boundries are not as unsurmountable now. This is our chance to change our reality and blogging is part of that, I think. I remain connected to you because of it. "You have widened my tent flap," with your faithfulness to life. I cherish it and I cherish the gift of you in my life. Thank You! Sr. K

Maybe sometime I should jump aboard the alphabet train.

It still very much winter here. I seem to do better in cooler weather. I sure hope we don't have anther hot summer like we did last year.

Under my clothes line we got snow.

Oh I don't know - you came up with plenty of E there!

You're so right, everyone's life has something to share.

I have never looked more forward to spring in my entire life. The winter here has been the worst I can remember. I hope you have a kinder and more gentle one than I had Robyn.
