*this is what Mother Nature sent me yesterday, this is what I saw from my kitchen window. A rainbow to remind me that after the flood of tears that I have cried, there is always a rainbow. Ties quite well into filling your life with colour as Lisa oceandreamer is doing*
Getting on with my housework, I looked out the window and it was sleeting, which steadily turned to snow. Only for about 5 mins, but it still snowed....all this time, my clothes still flapping wildly on the line, that is of course if they were still there........
I went out to lunch with Joe and went looking for something to make my Spirit doll from. I was thinking of 'copying' Daisy's pattern but now I am leaning towards a stick for a body. After lunch, I went looking for a few gifties - and discovered a little shop call FrouFrou - full of amazing treasures... came home and rescued my washing off the line or ground, or wherever it had ended up... trying not to complain.. but it is so hard as I don't do well in the wind. Then I packed a giftie up to be sent of today and made myself a hot chocolate.
all night the wind howled again - gale force - so I have been awake nearly all night and three times I was up to one of the windows on our verandah, being blown open. I was scared it was going to smash overnight - it is quite old - part of the old home next door which was built around 1912, so would be hard to replace....... today more washing - where on earth does it come from?
Now I am off outside to see what damage has been done to my garden. Not much I can do today though, except sit and snuggle in a chair and read and maybe do some work in my soul journal/Book of Shadows. I think I might share some of that oneday soon
tonight, I am off to Spotlight to look for some glittery embellishments for my Spirit doll....
*~* I hope your day is filled with butterflies, magick, colour & fripparies! ~*~

I know it probably wasn't funny at the time but I had to giggle a bit at a monk helping to corral the runaway trash. AND then you coming back from lunch possibly finding your knickers and sundry items strewn about the neighborhood. What do you suppose the Monk would do then? LOL!
I don't mind wind when it isn't gale force, I like a good breeze because it makes my wind chime symphony play.
While you are having that weather it's 96 here today - acck!
So happy to see the rainbow appear - a good reminder!
Sending sparkly colored hugs toyou.
Love,
Lisa
XO
Been REALY windy here in S.A. too, been flooding in some parts too.
What a picture, you and the monk running round picking up the recycling! LOL
Have a GREAT day
{{hugs}}
I love to hear the wind when I am tucked up cosily indoors. Outside I'm not so keen.
It's fun to hear how you are discovering the joy of zen in every day tasks, even if it is by joining up with a Buddhist monk to chase the recycling..
;o)
will trade my hot humid days for your wind, sleet and snow. :) I am so ready for fall and winter and summer has just arrived
One thing about the wind....your prayer flags were busy
:-)
probably sent you the Monk to help pick up trash.
Happy you had a pretty rainbow!
You sound like you're doing better Robyn, very grounded and I'm sure the rainbow showing up had a lot to do with bringing your inspiration.
It's amazing to me as I sit here in my tank and summer skirt that winter is findings its way to you. I love seeing the difference in our worlds and yet we are so connected. I am very grateful for that!
Love the picture in my mind of your and the monk running around chashing trash in the wind. I wish we had some of your wind. It is in the high 90s here everyday and my goodness at the humidity. The rainbow is great. Love Hugs and Blessings
Laundry is a never-ending chore isn't it? The rainbow is beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us. :)
hmmmmm a shop full of amazing treasuresjust the thing for I and even my mum would love that we are very similar in many ways. I love the rainbow picture I haven't seen a rainbow in so long! I'm off to look for one xx
Wow, I have chased garbage and recycling down the road as well. It is not much fun! Nice to have a monk help out though...!
Thank you for my lovely package, it arrived today (see your email) and I am grateful that you are such a kind and wonderful friend. I hope you find all the embellishments you are looking for! Maybe I will bug you about how to make a spirit doll too...
xo
Blue!
xoxoxo
What a funny image of you in your pj's together with "orange Fred" picking up your rubbish - we don't have to look too far for colour to brighten up our day *!* Your wind howled and swirled around our place all night, your sleet and snow didn't reach us, nor your washing ;o)
Robyn,
I don't do well with wind either. It makes me very cranky.
My mom used to hang wet clothes on the clothesline in winter (-20 to -30 F.) and when she brought them in they would be frozen stiff and she would have to hang/drape them everywhere!
I'm glad you got to see the rainbow.
Julie
Wild winds and washing lines
shops called frou frou
monks flying down the street
recycling too
....
these are a few of my favourite things...
Your whole post sounds like a song!
xoxo
How frustrating the wind can be - but thank goodness for the Venerable Fred (I love that name!)
Also, though I don't do well in the wind either, I DO love "The Wind In the Willows" - thank you for sharing one of the illos.
That rainbow is just beautiful, Robyn - what a wonderful gift Mother Nature sent you. XOXO
