Every morning for the last week or so, I have noticed the rainbow lorikeets up in the eucalypt tree, nextdoor. They make a cacophony of noise... I am not sure what they are up to maybe there are nuts or flowers that they feed on. They are there for a short time, maybe 15 to 20 mins.. then they all fly off. I wonder where? I have made a note in my journal so that next year, I can see if there visit is an annual occurrence..then it can be part of my seasons of the year wheel. I vaguely remember them from years before but not sure if it was around the same time.. I also noticed on my way to a meeting this afternoon, that the early blooming wattles are in flower....I must take some photos next week, another thing that I can put into my own seasons wheel.
today is the day I got my final Harry Potter book..it was on order and Joe picked it up for me from our local bookshop. Well, not really the local bookshop, Woodford only has a post office but our main town is Springwood about 10 mins away by car. So the book is sitting on my snuggly chair ready and waiting. I am a little hesitant to pick it up - once I get my head in it, I will be there til I finish it and being the last book, I want to savour it for as long as i can.
Tomorrow is supposed to bring the same weather - overcast and chilly so I am not sure what I will be doing. Joe is going for a ride, but it is just too cold for me to be doing that...so I may finish the Imbolc gift that will be drawn tomorrow and a few other promised projects that have been on my 'art' table for ages and I will take a wander around and take some photos. must go now... I am off to see Harry Potter !
*~* I hope your day is filled with butterflies, magick, colour & fripperies! ~*~

Enjoy your day. It must be great to look out and see such beautiful birds. I always keep some pine cones to help start fires with. Love Hugs and Blessings
I too was looking at the flowering Wattle - makes our winters that bit brighter and of course I love to hear those lorikeets - they always have so much to say for themselves. Hope the HP movie was all and more than your expectations. That painting at the end of your post is very pretty *!*
How cool it must be to have such gorgeous birds just outside your window. I don't know what flowering wattle is, so I'll have to look that up.
Enjoy your Harry Potter book - my daughter just picked her copy up from the bookstore, and I'll wait till she's read it, then borrow it.
Have a wonderful day! xo
How wonderful to have such beautiful birds just outside your window! We have pretty birds but none as colourful as yours!
Have fun working on your projects! Have a great weekend. :)
I am so bad. I haven't read even one Harry Potter book but have given the books to the grands as gifts. Also gave them the movies and haven't seen them either. I want to sit down and read the books this winter when things are nice, slow and quiet.
The rainbow lorikeets are just beautiful. Hope you enjoyed the soup and Harry Potter. I've read them all but was losing interest a bit in the last two. Hannah(one of my DILs) has her new copy and will be immersed in it today.
I get my Harry Potter book today! I ordered it from amazon.com and they promised to deliver it the same day as it is available in bookstores. How strange that you are a day ahead of us! Anyway, I will be home all day so the postman will find someone here. Since I have a pile of books to be read, I promised my husband he can read the book first.
I love that we have things in common - love of soup on a cold day; and things special to each - like your lorikeets. How wonderful!

I am just taking a break for HPatDH... Half way through it already. My son, cousin and I queued up and were first in line for it!! I know, how sad. Enjoy sweetie..
Sounds like a lovely way to spend a cold winter's day....curled up, good book, fire going and a nice pot of soup. Enjoy your day!
Silly me did not pre-order so now I hope I can find a copy of HP any time soon.
XOXO
