a sisterhood of the Purple bicycle post, I think.. 8 years today I finished my radiation and I celebrate!!

today, is the anniversary of the last of my radiation treatment. which considering I am still alive, makes me a survivor... 8 years!! I believe this is a Sisterhood of the Purple Bicycle Moment... I would love to have all my Sisters rejoice with me!! ... and putting myself out there I share the internal radiation...brachytherapy

please don't feel that you have to read my diary of my cancer journey.. I am doing this for myself and lord, it is helping so much... the support from each and every one of you, my sisters, is bringing peace to this anguish and anger I have stored for so long... I was going to stop writing because I know it has been difficult for some to read.. but I am riding this purple bike with my head held high!!!
once my story has been told, I am going to print it out as well as all comments and it will be put into my Soul Journal.. otherwise known as my Book of Shadows and light... for future generations to read.. just how strong their wise grandmother was!!

  2. I raise my glass of very fine red to you in honour of such a remarkable milestone!

And I shall join you wild pedalling women, as I climb upon my own purple bicycle and ride alongside you, hotting and whooping at high speed, (although I'll possibly be a bit wobbly after that glass of red - hehe).

  3. I've ridden my purple bike with you through this transition and peddled like crazy to keep up with you while you raced through this process!!

Love your day and thank you for giving us all the courage to look through soul searing pain to the joy of a spirit made stronger for what lessons have been mastered/mistressed through the process! Hip Hip Hooray!

  6. I salute your bravery. I have read others tales of their dealings with cancer but I have never read a tale as honest as yours. So many gloss over the pain and horrible treatments. I had no idea...

  17. i am so grateful for you sharing your story. it makes me feel so much less alone. it is so brave you are sharing what you have gone through. i'm so glad for you that it has been 8 years! and that the writing itself has been healing for you. i feel like you are letting women who are newly diagnosed know what to expect that most likely no one will ever let them know. you are bravely telling your own journey, how you felt, how you survived, having had to go through something so terrifyingly painful and horrific. you are an inspiration. and as for anyone who finds it hard to read, i'm sure this is only because it is hard to see someone in pain, especially someone they care for. but that difficulty of other's experience should never be a sign that you or any of us should keep quiet. it's the opposite. i think it shows that this is exactly the kind of information we need to be telling each other. we need to know what each of us has had to endure. it's the only way to ensure a future where people won't have to suffer alone or in silence. thank you so much for sharing your heart~ sending love and hugs to you~~
