It was awesome. I tried to find a website for her paintings so you could see too, but I guess there is not one. She paints very detailed icons on wood with egg tempera, adds gems and golden scrolls as was done in the old days, and seals it. You would have loved them, I know. xoxoxoJ Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16418645028718782130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5925100199063229025.post-50577515345501655922010-02-05T01:25:49.877+11:002010-02-05T01:25:49.877+11:00Candles are very important to me too. I still use candles every day - in the bath, at the table, and when I meditate and do yoga.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01240260047781510027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5925100199063229025.post-43754447290750018712010-02-04T15:04:38.068+11:002010-02-04T15:04:38.068+11:00I wish you weren't half a world away; I think ...I wish you weren't half a world away; I think we could have some enlightening conversations over tea. I love the last line in your post: "I yearn for a box of candles tied up with a piece of blue, vintage ribbon." Candles lit in a darkened space transport us to a more spiritual place, that's for sure. I love being around those tiered banks of flickering votives in Catholic churches, especially if they honour the Virgin Mary.Debra She Who Seekshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01845703092794695023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5925100199063229025.post-56007122312097981572010-02-04T00:17:15.161+11:002010-02-04T00:17:15.161+11:00I think your confusion is fine as I think it's...I think your confusion is fine as I think it's more important to take notice of your souls needs then a calender.
XX
BTW love the Edith Wharton quote.Fire Byrdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05477692359400671374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5925100199063229025.post-48686531349756033162010-02-03T23:25:00.254+11:002010-02-03T23:25:00.254+11:00I hear you on the being confused with the seasons,...I hear you on the being confused with the seasons, specially since the world is so global nowadays, we are in touch with other people living in other lands with different realities.Paula - Buenos Aireshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12601159166382653183noreply@blogger.com
